هدف از این مطالعه، پیش‌بینی سلامت روانی دانشجویان براساس تعارض نقش جنسیتی آنان بود. این مطالعه از نوع توصیفی همبستگی بود. آزمودنی‌های پژوهش شامل 200 نفر دانشجوی مرد بودند که به روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای چند مرحله‌ای از میان دانشجویان دانشگاه محقق اردبیلی انتخاب شدند. برای جمع‌آوری داده‌ها از مقیاس تعارض نقش جنسیتی (وستر و همکاران، 2012) و مقیاس سلامت روانی (گلدبرگ و هیلر، 1979)استفاده شد. داده‌های به‌دست آمده با استفاده از تحلیل رگرسیون چندمتغیره مورد تحلیل قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد که اثر مؤلفه‌های موفقیت، قدرت، رقابت؛ هیجان‌پذیری محدود و تعارض بین کار و روابط خانوادگی بر مؤلفه‌های اضطراب و بی‌خوابی، نارساکنش‌وری اجتماعی و افسردگی معنی‌دار است (01/0P < )، ولی بر مؤلفه نشانه‌های بدنی اثر معنی‌داری ندارد. همچنین، تعارض نقش جنسیتی 64 درصد از واریانس سلامت روانی را در میان دانشجویان تبیین می‌کند. بر اساس نتایج این تحقیق افرادی که از تعارض نقش جنسیتی کمتری برخوردارند سلامت روانی بهتر و بالاتری دارند.
