ThepresentstudyaimedtoinvestigateprofessionalsuccessamongIranianEFLteachersintwodifferentteachingcontextsnamelyhighschoolsandlaguageinstitutesconcerningtheiryearsofteachingexperience,gender,levelofeducationandsocioeconomicstatus.Dataweregatheredfromamong61teachersand600studentschosenfromvariousprivateEnglishlanguageinstitutesandhighschoolsinShiraz,Iran.TheinstrumentusedinthestudywasaquestionnairedevelopedbyMoafianandPishghadam(2009).Resultsindicatedthatprofessionalsuccessofmaleteachersishigherthanthatoffemaleteachers.Find-ingsfurtherillustratedthatthereisasignificantpositiverelationshipbetweenEnglishteachers’professionalsuccessandtheireducationlevlandsocioeconomicstatus.Finally,itwasfoundthatEnglishteachers’professionalsuccessishigheramonginstituteteacherscomparedwiththeircounterparts.
