گیاه دارویی دم شیر با نام علمی Leonurus cardiaca L. گیاهی علفی و چند ساله متعلق به تیرۀ نعنائیان (Lamiaceae) است که بطور گسترده ای در طب سنتی ایران و دیگر کشورها به عنوان گیاهی آرام بخش، خواب آور، مدر، کاهنده فشار خون و بویژه به عنوان درمان بیماریهای قلبی شناخته میشود. از این گیاه ترکیبات فیتوشیمیایی مهمی نظیر آلکالوییدها، ایریدوییدها، ساپونینها، فلاونوییدها، کاردنولیدها و دی ترپنوییدها استخراج و شناسایی شده است. با توجه به اهمیت و پراکندگی این گیاه در ایران، هدف از این پژوهش بررسی فیتوشیمیایی عصارۀ گیاهL. cardiaca در جهت ارزیابی و شناسایی ترکیبات طبیعی موجود در آن میباشد. در راستای این تحقیق، ابتدا اندامهای هوایی گیاه مذکور در مرحلۀ گلدهی از دامنههای کوه دماوند در مردادماه 1395 جمع آوری و به روش خیساندن در حلال عصاره گیری گردید. سپس به منظور جداسازی چربیها و ترکیبات اشباع با زنجیرههای بلند، عمل چربیگیری توسط حلال هگزان و در قیف جداکننده انجام شد. در مرحله بعد به منظور جداسازی فراکسیونهای مختلف، بر روی ستون کروماتوگرافی برده و نهایتاً از میان 32 فراکسیون بدست آمده، از فراکسیون 8+9+10 بلور مربوط به ترکیبی طبیعی ظاهر گردید. برای اولین بار در دنیا از گیاه دم شیر ترکیب طبیعی یک گلیکوزید قلبی با نام دیگوکسین استخراج، جداسازی و خالص سازی شده و با استفاده از روشهای طیف سنجی 13C-NMR، 1H-NMR، DEPT و IR ساختمان شیمیایی آن شناسایی و معرفی گردید.
