The relationship family functioning and social network addication with regard to the mediating role of emotional self-regulation in adolescents

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family functioning and social network addication with regard to the mediating role of emotional self-regulation in adolescents in Isfahan. This is a descriptive correlational study Accordingly, the population of this study included all adolescents in Isfahan city in the academic year of 2018-19, Which were selected by stratified random sampling method based on gender of 300 students (boys and girls). To collect the research data, the Epstein, Baldwin & Bishop family function questionnaire (1983) With a reliability coefficient of 0.71, the Hoffman & Kashdan Self-Regulation Questionnaire (2010) With a reliability coefficient of 0.81 and Haghayegh and etal Social Networking Questionnaire (2016) With a reliability coefficient of 0.84 and And content validation with expert approval were used. Data were analyzed using structural equation analysis and AMOS software. The results of path analysis showed that there is only direct path between -0.64 and -0.32 between total family functioning on emotional self-regulation and social network dependency. But the overall effect of family functioning on social network dependency was 0.37, of which 0.17 had a direct effect and 0.20had an indirect effect and mediated role emotional self-regulation.Family functioning, Social network dependency, Emotional self-regulation
