A comparative and analytical study of the goddess (mother of the gods) in the myth of ancient Iran and Greece

Abstract :
Myth had been special importance in the ancient times because myth gave identity to the religion, culture and national literature of each ethnic group. Goddesses ( elahe) had been great importance in the beliefs of the ancient people. Most of these gods and goddesses were women and they were called the goddess or mother of God. The belief in the fertility and the struggle for the survival of women have manifested in symbols and myths. But in later periods, the position of woman has transferred from the mother of God to the wife of God and the position after the male god has been drawn gradually from social scenes into homes. In this paper has tried to study the comparison and analysis of Goddesses special in the culture of Greece and iran relying on the avestan and pahlavic arabic,latin with the historical methodes. The findings of the research has showed that women had a high position and dignity in the mythological culture of the people of Iran and Greece and they were worshiped as "Mother of God" among the people and based on this belief, temples and places of worship were dedicated to themselves. we conclude that the woman has had a high position in the mythical culture of Greece and Iranian people. And goddess as mother of god has worshoiped among the people and based on ths belif , the altars and temples have been assigned by her.
