Abstract :
Objective: Public libraries if they want to play their role in a desirable way; It is necessary to look for quality criteria not in compliance with internal standards but first and foremost in the level of satisfaction of their users and customers. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between demographic characteristics and communication skills of librarians in public libraries in Khuzestan province.Methodology: The method of achieving the research goal was the simultaneous use of meta-combination technique, content analysis and Delphi method. The statistical population of the study included 327 librarians of public libraries in Khuzestan province in 1399. By proportional attribution sampling method, 100 people were selected as a sample. Analysis of variance was used to analyze the differences between different age, educational and occupational groups. Kramer Phi and V tests were also used to examine the relationship between demographic characteristics and communication skills components and ICT skills. Results: The results showed that according to the chi-square values in the components of communication skills, it can be argued that there is no observed relationship between gender and marital status and verbal, non-verbal, interpersonal communication skills. Be. Due to the very large amounts of Chi-square and the results of the Kramer V test, as well as the significance level, which is much higher than 0.05; It can be inferred that there is no relationship between the city of service and verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Given the significant levels that are much higher than 0.05 and the small values of the Spearman correlation coefficient; It can be inferred that there is no relationship between the age and work experience of the respondents and verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills. According to Spearman correlation coefficient values; It can be inferred that there is a relatively weak relationship between respondents' education level and verbal, non-verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Conclusion: It can be stated that there is no relationship between demographic characteristics including gender, marital status, age, city of work, work experience with verbal, non-verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
