Investigating the relationship between homelessness and internet addiction in female students

Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between the feeling of homelessness and internet addiction in female students of Islamic Azad University of Tonkabon branch. The method of this research is correlational and according to the method of data collection, it is part of descriptive (non-experimental) research. The statistical population of this research included all female students of Islamic Azad University, Tunkabon branch, in 2015. The sample of this research consisted of 200 female students of Islamic Azad University, Tonkabon branch, who were selected by random stratified sampling from different faculties. Questionnaires of homelessness and internet addiction were used to collect information. Findings using Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that there is a positive and significant correlation between the feeling of homelessness (p < 0.01; r = 0.44) and its dimensions with Internet addiction. Also, there is a negative and significant correlation between quality of life (p < 0.01; r = -0.38) and its dimensions with Internet addiction. Also, the multiple regression coefficient showed that there is a significant linear relationship between the predictor variable (feeling of homesickness) and the criterion variable (Internet addiction) and the dimensions of desire to return to the homeland with a beta coefficient of 0.36, loneliness with a beta coefficient of 0.31 and homesickness For close friends, with a beta coefficient of 0.21, it is able to predict Internet addiction.
