Abstract :
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of satellite channels on emotions and behaviors of family members who are living in Ardebil. With respect to its goal, this study is practical, and methodologically, it is comparative. The statistical population of this study falls into two groups. The first group includes families who inhabit in Ardebil and do not watch satellite channels and the second group includes families who inhabit in Ardebil and watch satellite channels. Since the total population for both groups is unknown, Cochran's formula for infinite populations is used to determine the two sample sizes. Based on the Cochran's formula for infinite populations, sample size for both groups was calculated to be 384. The samples were gathered according to cluster random sampling method. In order to collect the required data, questionnaire was used. Moreover, SPSS software was used to analyze data and T-test was used to analyze hypotheses for both groups. The results show that there is a significant difference between the two groups, i.e. families who watch satellite channels and families who do not watch them, in the following items: legal relationships, socialize, marital intimacy, and acceptance of betrayal.
