Abstract :
Abstract This paper is to discuss the well-known British linguist Michael Halliday's theory on the two concepts of order and function related to the three parts of experimental, individual and textual matters in the Qabus Nameh. Functional theory has a cognitive approach towards meanings, interpretations and experience. In functional grammar, language can have diverse usages; therefore, one can investigate various linguistics and verbal phenomena. This research aims at studying the rational, material, behavioral, verbal and existential processes in the function of the language, and it is based on the speeches and didactic sentences existing in the text of The Qabus Nameh. The study also attempts to prove that Keikavus employed these rational processes in educating his own son due to its multiple application of noun phrases and linking verbs.
