Abstract :
Purpose: A stock price crash is a phenomenon in which the stock price undergoes a sudden and severe negative adjustment. On the other hand, if a company with a high social responsibility culture observes the same high level of ethical standards in financial reporting, it will face a higher level of transparency and a lower level of accumulation of bad news; Therefore, it is expected that in such companies, the risk of reducing stock returns will decrease. Also, in the conditions of the Covid-19 epidemic, the impact of this disease on companies with social responsibility and the risk of their stock prices falling has not been clear. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of social responsibility (CSR) on stock returns in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange during the period of Covid-19 in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange.
Methodology: This research is descriptive in terms of results and the statistical population of the research includes the companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange during a period of 6 years from 2019 to 2024 and 158 companies were selected as a statistical sample through screening method.
Findings: To analyze and check the hypotheses of the research, it has been done using EViews and regression. Data analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between social responsibility and company stock returns; Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between the Corona phenomenon and the company's stock returns, in other words, with the emergence of the Corona phenomenon, the company's stock returns have increased.
