The role of metaphor in explaining religious discourse in Ahmad Azizi's poetry with a social cognitive approach

Abstract :
Religious discourse has been manifested in Persian poetry in various forms, which can often be represented in the areas of religiosity, monotheism, godliness, return to nature, guardianship, belief in Mahdism, Ashura uprising, and the culture of martyrdom. The result of the text shows that Ahmad Azizi's poems have used the capacity of ontological metaphor for greater objectivity and patterning of the above mental concepts. Based on this, the three major metaphors /monotheism, God-seeking, guardianship, Ashura movement and martyrdom are the path-destination / religiosity, monotheism, waiting for a savior, Ashura movement and martyrdom are living things / religion as a phenomenon / The material has volume in the field of religious discourse, and micro-metaphors have been formed to support the main metaphor. Also, movement/path, vitality, volume and event imagination schemas along with the variables of belief and religious attitude, name/dignity, community and culture had the most participation in the interaction of two cognitive and social approaches. The manifestation of religious ideology and Islamic revolutionary vision, which is used as the dominant discourse in Ahmed Azizi's poetry, has a special role in representing Iranian Islamic culture and the religious solidarity of societies and nations. This research, using library resources in a descriptive-analytical way, while explaining the prevailing religious discourse in Ahmad Azizi's poems, examines and analyzes the role of ontological metaphor in representing this type of discourse with a social cognitive approach.
