Abstract :
This article is written in order to introduce one of the innovations of the science of linguistics in the last two decades and the application of new technologies in literary stylistics, which is called corpus stylistics. Corpus linguistics itself is the result of the growth and development of Halliday's branch of functional linguistics since the mid-1970s on one hand and the development of computer technologies and digital communication in the last two decades of the 20th century on the other hand. In this way, in the first part of the article, the theoretical foundations of corpus linguistics, the methods and tools needed in applying corpora and presenting some practical examples of corpus analysis in linguistic research have been discussed. While introducing another application of linguistic corpora in literary studies and especially literary stylistics, the article continues with the history of the formation and emergence of corpus stylistics, which has emerged in the past decade, that is, since 2010, and it ends by presenting some examples of stylistic studies of English language fiction literature and practical recommendations to those interested in such research.
