Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of mindfulness parenting scale about Shiraz parents. In order to estimate the psychometric indices of the questionnaire, 300 parents with children aged 2 to 16 years old were selected in the city of Shiraz, and a mindfulness parenting scale was implemented. In order to investigate the construct validity, exploratory factor analysis method was used by main component analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The sampling rate was 0.89 and the significance of the Bartlett Curve test indicated favorable conditions for performing factor analysis. According to the findings, the conscious mindfulness parenting scale consisted of two factors: 53.57% of total variance. Also, the significance of fitness indicators in confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the two-factor model extracted from exploratory factor analysis. Also, a significant correlation between the total score of the scale and the subscales of the mindfulness scale (p < 0.001) indicated the convergence validity of the scale. Data analysis showed that the internal consistency of the whole scale was 0.95 on the basis of Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the validity coefficient of the test was analyzed by SPSS for the whole scale and its two subscales were statistically significant (p < 0.001). Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the mindfulness parenting scale has an appropriate validity and reliability for measuring the mindfulness parenting in Iranian society.
