Relationship between Spiritual Intelligence and Leadership Style of Managers of Secondary Schools in the City of Gorgan

Abstract :
The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and style of leadership in secondary schools in the city of Gorgan. The method of study was descriptive and correlational. The population involved 100 high school administrators working in secondary schools in Gorgan in 2010. The instruments utilized to collect the data, were the questionnaires of King and spiritual intelligence and leadership style of Bardnz and Mtzkans. Pearson correlation coefficient, regression and student t-test was used to analyze the data. The results of the analysis indicated that, there was no relationship between spiritual intelligence and leadership style, relation–ordinate and leadership style task–ordinate. Furthermore, there was a positive relationship between leadership style combined with spiritual intelligence (high morale and high productivity). The findings of the study also demonstrated that the style of combined leadership was prevalent in male leaders rather than in female leaders. However, there was no difference in the variables of styles of leadership according to relation-oriented, task–ordinate and spiritual intelligence
