On the Relationship between Organizational Health and the Establishment of School-based Management

Abstract :
The purpose of the present study was to determine the relationship between organizational health and the establishment of school-based management in high schools of Shiraz in the school year 2010–2011. Out of a population of 310 high school principals in Shiraz, 175 respondents were sampled according to Morgan’s table using stratified random sampling method. Data were collected through two questionnaires, that is, an organizational health questionnaire with 44 items, and a school-based management questionnaire with 42 items. Using Cornbrash's alpha their reliability was assessed to be 0/84 and 0/85 respectively. The data were analyzed using multiple descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicated that there was a significant relationship between all components of the organizational health and the establishment of school-based management. Further, There was no significant difference between private and public schools in terms of the relationship between organizational health and the establishment of school-based management. It was also demonstrated that there was no significant difference between girls and boys high schools in terms of the relationship between organizational health and the establishment of school-based management.
