Investigating the relationship between socialization and social development with the mediating role of communication skills in high school students

Abstract :
The social development of students in education can depend on various factors such as socialization and communication skills. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to Investigating the relationship between socialization and social development with the mediating role of communication skills in high school students in the academic year 2022-23. The present study is a descriptive research based on the purpose of the application and according to the method of data collection, it is considered as a descriptive research. The statistical population consisted of all male and female students of Yasuj high school, among whom 400 students were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. All of them completed Taormina’s community-based questionnaire, Vineland communication skills questionnaire, and Barton’s social development questionnaire. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling using LISREL software. The findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between socialization, communication skills and social development of students. Finally, socialization by mediating communicative skills plays a direct and indirect effect on students' social development. Therefore, it can be concluded that socialization, either directly or indirectly, through mediation of communication skills can affect the social development of students.
