The relationship between emotion processing styles and anxiety with the mediating role of resilience in patients who are candidates for cosmetic surgery

Abstract :

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between emotion processing styles and anxiety with the mediating role of resilience in patients who are candidates for cosmetic surgery. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population of this research included all women and girls who had visited Milad Lahijan Hospital for cosmetic surgery during the second six months in 2024. The sample consisted of 200 people who were selected by available sampling method. The tools used in this research were Beck's anxiety questionnaire (1990), emotional processing scale by Bakker et al. The structural equation modeling method was used to analyze the data. The results of the structural equation model showed that emotional processing styles through resilience explain a total of 41% of the variance of anxiety in people. The proposed research model had an acceptable fit. From the results, it can be concluded that emotion processing styles have an effect on anxiety with the mediating role resilience.
