Investigating the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership style of managers with organizational agility in the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization of East Azerbaijan Province

Abstract :
This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and managerial leadership styles with organizational agility. A stratified random sampling method was employed, selecting 234 employees from the Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization of East Azerbaijan Province. Data were collected using validated questionnaires on organizational agility, Fiedler’s leadership style, and Wong and Law’s emotional intelligence. The results indicated that the reliability and validity of these instruments have been confirmed in numerous prior studies. Furthermore, findings revealed that managerial leadership style—including its dimensions (task-oriented and relationship-oriented leadership) — significantly correlates with organizational agility. Among the components of emotional intelligence, only empathy and social skills demonstrated a significant relationship with organizational agility. Additionally, innovative behavior and organizational climate were found to contribute most substantially to explaining the dependent variable. Regression analysis showed that self-motivation (β=0.328), social skills (β=0.293), empathy (β=0.072), and leadership style (β=0.194) were the strongest predictors of organizational agility, in that order.
