New Explanation of Citizen Education Components with Emphasis on Hidden Curriculum in High School

Abstract :
Introduction and Objectives: Citizenship is a concept that gives the people of the society formal and legal identity and, on the one hand, entails duties and responsibilities, and, on the other hand, implies the rights and desires of individuals. The purpose of this study was to describe, explain and interpret students' life experiences of effective citizenship education components. Method: The population of the study consisted of 54000 male and female students of the third and fourth year of the theoretical secondary schools of Sistan and Baluchestan province in six educational years of the academic year of 2016-2017. Which were selected by homogeneous purposeful sampling. The data gathering tool was a semi-structured interview, where interviews continued to saturate data. The data analysis method was thematic coding and interpretive analysis. Results: After analyzing the data and removing the common code, a code of concept that represents participants' experiences was extracted and categorized into five main categories: 1 Individual and collective health 2 Cultural heritage 3 Participation 4 Law 5 Ability to solve Question. Conclusion: These findings indicate that students have gained many positive and negative experiences in relation to citizenship skills that suggest changes in attitudes, ethics, and so on, making them easier to plan for community officials.
