Abstract :
Rurality and Ruralism are the new approaches to rural issues that have been taken into consideration in recent years to improve the viability of villages, conserve biological sustainability, and reduce immigration. The main objective of the research is to investigate effective factors on sustainable rurality. The case study was the villages at Ahmadabad watershed of Mashhad County, Iran. By using Cochran's formula, sample households were systematic randomly surveyed by questionnaires. According to the results, social, cultural, economic, welfare, political, and natural components have different effects on the quantity and quality of the rurality. Based on the results, natural and policy factors are the highest and the lowest factors, respectively. In order to increase rurality, these findings emphasize the importance of natural ecosystems and highlight the need for a revision of development policies. Therefore, planning to improve the status of natural ecosystems, revise rural development policies, and provide insights into sociological factors are among the suggested strategies.
