Abstract :
The aim of this study was to investigate the sociological impact of gender inequality on cultural development (Case study: female students of Islamic Azad universities in Tehran). The theoretical framework of the research has been designed using the theories of theorists such as Ritzer, Bourdieu, Bloomberg, Chafts, Smith and Engels, Harrison and Grundona. The research method is quantitative like the survey research method. The statistical population of this study is female students of Islamic Azad universities in Tehran and the sample size is 382 people and the multi-stage cluster sampling method is proportional to the volume and simple random. Data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire in which the validity of face-to-face content and trust tools was calculated with Cronbach's alpha and obtained 0.81. The results of the research show that in general, cultural development in contemporary Iranian society is in an unfavorable situation. There is also a significant inverse relationship between the unequal distribution of cultural capital, symbolic capital, economic capital and social capital as dimensions of gender inequality and cultural development. Regression test showed that the research variables were able to predict about 38.3% of the total changes in the dependent variable (cultural development). So that among the dimensions of gender inequality, cultural capital with a regression coefficient of 0.600 - the highest regression effect and unequal distribution of economic capital with a regression coefficient - 0.108 - have the lowest regression effect on the dependent variable (cultural development).
