Abstract :
Introduction and Aim: According to the concept of migration, migrants return to their native land to live due to various reasons (economic, social, cultural, etc.) can lead to the phenomenon of counterurbanization. In Iran, counterurbanization of people is concerned to movements from big cities to small towns or to return from cities to rural areas. Because migration does not have a coherent rule, reasons and motivations for migration are diverse and yet complementary. Based on studies done in the project document further migration to Tehran is caused due to economic problems. In this study, the role of economic factors in shaping the phenomenon of counterurbanization of metropolitan Tehran has been investigated. The final purpose of this research is to identify and evaluate those economic factors that motivate people in Tehran to migrate to smaller cities or villages. Method: the method of this research is the correlation description and it is practical. Using a questionnaire is the Method of data collection. The research sample is of men and women living in metropolitan Tehran and sample size of 384 were determined based on the Cochran formula. Results: the results suggest that Administrative infrastructure and amenities factors in the Tehran Metropolis do have affect counterurbanization, and the first factor has more impact than the latter one. The analysis also shows that by increasing the level of these factors, the possibility of counterurbanization movements will increase up to 16 percent, which is a significant amount at this time.
