Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between family functioning and quality of school life with the mediating role of academic self-efficacy in secondary school students. The research applied in terms of purpose and method was descriptive, correlational one. The statistical population of this study included 4300 students of at the Secondary school of Neka. The statistical sample was 353 participants that determined by the using Krejcy and Morgan table, and selected by stratified random sampling according to gender. Data were gathered by using three Questionnaires of Epstein et al family functioning (1983), Williams & Batten quality of school life questionnaire (1981) and Jinks, & Morgan academic self-efficacy questionnaire (1999). Their reliability was calculated to 0.88, 0.88 and 0.87 respectively by the use of Cronbach Alpha. The collected data was used for analyzed by Structural equation modeling using the partial least squares method (PLS). The results of this study showed that there is a significant relationship between family functioning and quality of school life with academic self-efficacy. 63.2% of academic self-efficacy and 85.5% of quality of school life is explained by family functioning. And the academic self-efficacy variable has a mediator effect on the relationship between family functioning and quality of school life. Fit indices indicate that the proposed model is an appropriate fit
