Abstract :
The goal of the present research was the comparative study of social understanding in Student’s with & without Hearing Impairment in Shiraz. The subject of the examination in-cluded two groups of Student’s with Hearing Impairment (40 girls and 40 boys) and two groups of Student’s without Hearing Impair-ment(40 girls and 40 boys). The instrument that was used in this study was Bosackiʼs(1998) Social Understanding scale. Social Understand-ing scale include 4 dimensions(conceptual role taking, empathetic sensitiveity, person percep-tion). Validity of scales was confirmed via in-ternal consistency and their reliability was proved via cronbach ’s alpha. The data analyzed with using correlation,ANOVA and multiple regression analysis.The results revealed that group differences were significant , the mean score for without hearing impairment are reported to be significantly more than with hearing impairment in social understanding. However, sex differences were no significant. Also results revealed that father’s education and job have significant relation with social understanding. The results multiple regression revealed that father’s education and job predict social understanding positively.
