Abstract :
The aim of the present study was to examine the eight criteria (age, sex, safety, price, diversity, application, appearance, culture and values of the society) in choosing toys from the perspective of the parents of children aged 4-6 in Sepahan city of Isfahan. The research method is descriptive survey in terms of target and data collection. The statistical population includes the parents of children aged 4-6, 13 kindergartens and preschool children in Sepahan city of Isfahan in the academic year of 2015-2016.Using cluster sampling method, 200 were selected as samples. The data gathering tool was a questionnaire made by a researcher made of 32 questions. The reliability of the Cronbach alpha test was confirmed at 89%. The results of descriptive and inferential statistics analysis using spss19 software were used in addition to frequency distribution and percentage of Friedman test, one way ANOVA and post hoc tests. The results indicate that there is no significant difference between the parents' view of education, different occupations and the number of children in the choice of toys for their children. However, the views of parents of different age groups showed a significant difference in 6 criteria of 8 criteria for selecting toys for children. Also, the three main criteria for selecting a toy are, respectively, the fitting of playing equipment with the age and gender of the child and the use of toys, and considering the standard of culture and values of society as a criterion that is often neglected by parents in the choice of toy, was determined.
