Abstract :
The purpose of present research was to study the relationship between domestic violence and family function among Shahinshahr women. The research was a descriptive-correlational. The statistical population consisted of all women in Shahinshar town (67000), while 393 women were selected via multiple step random sampling among them. In this research a set of questionnaires consisting of Family Violence and Family Assistance Device (F. A. D) were implemented. Data were analyzed with the use of Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise regression analyses. The results of Pearson correlation coefficients showed a significant negative relationship between physical violence, emotional violence, verbal violence and sexual violence with family function (p≤ 0.01, p≤ 0.05). Moreover, results of stepwise regression analysis indicated that sexual and verbal violence could significantly predict family function (p≤ 0.01).
