Self-immolation is the beginning of a misfortune for a woman, family and the society. Becausea woman who immolates her self, if survives, should spend much time for remedy and may comeacross with an apparent anomaly for ever. This study was aimed to evaluate the demographicscharacteristic of self-immolated women. Since public information and studies in such cases, undoubtedly,are very effective in reducing self-infliction in women, in this regard, in addition to theprevious studies, a questionnaire was prepared by the researchers, given to 100 self –immolatedwomen hospitalized in Ahwaz Taleghani hospital; these women were interviewed as well. Resultsshowed that literacy and educational levels, suitable job, culture and economical conditions ,riskof factors related to marital status, age ,and mental and personality disorders are important factorsin self-immolation.
