Abstract :
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the determine the efficacy of problem solving training skills on decreasing test anxiety among freshman high school male students in fourth district of Ahvaz in the 2013-2014 academic year. Fifty students who obtained the highest scores on the Test Anxiety Inventory were randomly assigned to either experimental or control group. Ahvaz Test Anxiety scale (Abolghasemi & et al, 1374) was used to measur the dependent variable. After 9 session of problem solving training skills (D’Zurilla & Gold fried, 1971) on exprimental group the anxiety test scale was conducted to two groups. The results of covariance analysis indicated that the problem solving training reduced the test anxiety levels in the experimental group. Also, the results of follow-up phase indicated that the training remained effective after one months.
