Investigating the effectiveness of the mind in improving isolation and mental health due to the use of social networks among high school students in Karaj.

Abstract :
Background and purpose: Isolation disorder is one of the most common disorders among teenagers who use social networks a lot, and the role of psychological treatment in reducing its symptoms has been confirmed. The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of mindfulness in improving isolation and mental health caused by the use of social networks among Karaj high school students. Materials and methods: The research method was semi-experimental in the form of a pre-test-post-test design and a three-month follow-up with the control group. 45 people were selected from the available group of teenagers with isolation disorder in high schools of Karaj city who referred to the counseling centers of the Education Departments in the academic year of 1401-1402 and were placed in two experimental groups and one control group. The experimental groups received educational intervention in 8 sessions, but the control group did not receive any intervention. Mental well-being questionnaires were used to collect data. Data analysis was done using two-way analysis of variance with repeated measurements. Findings: The results indicate the effect of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness on reducing isolationism among students with isolationism disorder. Conclusion: The result of this research shows that mindfulness improves isolation and increases the mental well-being of students and can help improve their quality of life.
