Abstract :
The present research has been done to investigate the relationship between management style and time management of managers in Bojnord Highschool level within 2008-2009 academic year. It is theoretically based on Robert Houoe's theory of path-aim, which is one of the contingency theories. For this reason, management style is considered as a predictor variable and time management as a norm variable. A descriptive correlational study has been employed to gather data and examine the relationship between variable in a non-experimental situation. The statistical population consists of 49 high school managers, including private and state run schools. They were randomly selected using KREJCIE-Morgan test. To gather data on management styles, a researcher-made questionnaire with a reliability index of 0.92 was used. Time Management Questionnaire(Karamy, 1999) was employed. It has a reliability index of 0.86 and is highly content valid. Frequency table, standard deviation, bar graph and pie charts are used to describe the data. To infer results, Pearson correlation test, scatter diagram, t-test, Cronbach alpha, and horizontal tables along with SPSS software were employed. The results show that there a relationship between management style and time management at 95 percent confidence level. There is also a significant relationship between authoritative, supportive and participatory styles and time management
