Abstract :

The study intends to investigate the students’ attitude toward the characteristics of successful teacher in Shiraz University.  The research is a descriptive and survey type. Statistical research population, were all students in Shiraz university in academic year 0f 2010 -2011. A sample of  375 students were selected randomly. Based on the results of the study, the most important characteristics of successful teacher in general, has been her/his teaching ability and lowest related to teaching regulations. There is the same trend in both males and females. The students’ with a GPA of C regarded evaluation as the most important and the lowest related to personal. The students’ with a GPA of B  and A regarded teaching ability as the most important and the lowest related to the teaching regulations. Results show sufficient knowledge and  scientific mastery establish and strengthen confidence in students
