Abstract :
Hydrogels are three-dimensional polymers that swell in water, and due to having functional groups, they have many applications in medicine, water treatment industry, etc.In this work, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and methacrylamide hydrogels in monomer weight ratios of 1:1, 0.5:1, and 0.25:1, and methacrylamide and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate hydrogels using free radical polymerization at 70 ℃ and for 4 hours using ammonium persulfate as an initiator and N,N methylenebisacrylamide as a cross-linking agent, and all the prepared hydrogels were checked for swelling at pHs of 1 to 12 and their swelling kinetics were drawn and the best swelling was recorded. .Since 1960 AD, the preparation and production of hydrogels has been widely produced and investigated using the methods of gamma radiation and electrobeam. Of course, the production of hydrogels through radiation has many advantages, including high purity, no use of initiators and cross-linking agents. Another method of producing hydrogels is the use of chemicals, initiators and cross-linking agents, and the high cost of preparing these chemicals is one of the characteristics of these hydrogels.
