Abstract :
The tendency to commit high-risk behaviors among different classes of society, especially students, is one of the most important issues that threatens the social health of society. Increasing level of risky behaviors has different consequences for the individual and society. In this regard, the present study aimed to study the consequences of high-risk behaviors among the students. Some theories of high-risk behaviors have also been used for making the theoretical sensitivity. The research method is a qualitative method and the content analysis approach and semi-structured interview technique have been used to analyze and collect the research information. The target population of the present study includes students with high-risk behaviors in the five zones of secondary schools in Tabriz, of whom 57 students have been interviewed. Purposeful sampling method was used to select the participants. Reliability, verifiability and transferability have also been used to validate the data. Findings of the study based on the consequences of students' high-risk behaviors were presented in a comprehensive theme called "social capital erosion". Also, mental health impairment, social health impairment, intensification of social alienation, social isolation, social trust impairment, intensification of social indifference, high social depravity and academic failure were identified as eight organizing themes.
