Abstract :
Values on the one hand, are a help for determining social trends and ideologies and on the other hand, are a determinant of social behaviors and actions. This paper provides a brief overview of a comparative study on value priority among Iranian and Indian students. The main purpose of this research is to understand the position of the value priority among Iranian and Indian students. This study includes 690 male and female students from Tarbiat Modarres University in Iran and Mysore University in India. A sample size randomly selected according to the table of Karjice and Morgan. The research tool is Schwartz’s questionnaire. The results have shown that there is a significant difference between value priorities of conservation, tradition, and security in Indian and Iranian students. There is also a significant difference between priorities of values of openness to changes in Indian and Iranian students and these types are also tested using t-test.
