The Nature and Legitimacy of White Wedding

Abstract :
White wedding is one of the most common contracts in human society. Marriage in the west is a private and personal relationship and when a woman and a man live under a roof without marriage, even if without the intention or formal and legally registration, live together and get home, is called as "white wedding". This kind of life is one of the most common ways in the West. In Islam, white wedding is one of the new challenges in Iranian society. Although this relationship has a beautiful title but it implies to an illegitimate relationship and as distant to dignity of Muslim, for it is not a marriage with legal duties. In Islam, the relationship between men and women is marriage when it stands on Islamic rules or legal statutes based on legitimate marriage. White wedding is not considered as a marriage not only in terms of Shia`s jurisprudence, but also in all Islamic religions. It is an obvious crime and prohibited. In this research, which is based on descriptive and analytical method, we study the nature and legitimacy, void reasons and the factors of the tendency towards this type of marriage or relationship, and the ways to prevent its occurrence.
