Investigation of "Patience and Love" in Attar's Mantiq Al-Tayr

Abstract :
Sheikh Farid al-Din Attar Neyshaburi, Mystic poet of the sixth century and the early seventh century selects the language of love, draws human’s attention to the eternal beloved and presents love as companion of lover in seven cities of love, because he believes that faith in the divine covenant is always and everywhere necessary for moving to God and the way is for sure through tears and fire and blood. Maybe in this dangerous way, the seeker must benefit from the power of patience with love so that he can overtake the valleys and achieves his purpose and target and in this burning way. The treatment is just tears and patience. According to the importance of patience and love in the poems of Attar we decided to consider terms "patience and love" in Attar’s Mantiq al-tayr, with an eye on the great poet’s thought. The highest frequency belongs to patience to see the beloved (waiting for linkage) that Tolerating it is one of the most difficult levels of patience for the lover and it can be confirmed that Attar says more about separation.
