The effects of foliar application of biostimulants and some nutrients on some physiological traits of soybean under controlled and non-controlled conditions

Abstract :

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of foliar application of biostimulants and some nutrients on some physiological traits of soybean under controlled and non-controlled conditions. This study was conducted in arrangement of split plots in a randomized complete block design with three replications, including the presence of sucking pests at two levels (presence and absence of sucking pests) in the main plot and eight levels of foliar application (amino acid, seaweed extract, humic acid, boron, amino acid + boron, seaweed extract + boron, humic acid + boron and Control or lack of foliar application) was in the subplot. Seed number per pod and plant, 100-seed weight, grain yield, biological yield, harvest index, percentage of protein and oil were evaluated. The results showed a decrease in yield in the presence of the pests. Foliar application of humic acid increased 100-grain weight and oil percentage. However, lower seed number and biological yield and higher harvest index were seen. Foliar application of boron improved oil and protein percentage. In sum, boron can be applied to improve protein and oil percentage in soybean.
