Strategic Analysis of the Development of Rural Tourism Industry in the Conditions of Iran's Economy

Abstract :
Tourism and the tourism economy are currently becoming one of the cornerstones of the world's business economy, and many development planners and policymakers refer to the tourism industry as a key pillar of sustainable development. In this regard, the rural tourism industry as a strategy can play an effective role in the development and diversification of the regional economy by planning principles and identifying the advantages and limitations of rural tourism. The purpose of this article is to analyze the development of the tourism industry and provide appropriate strategies in the economic situation of Iran. Awareness of the conditions of the tourism industry in Iran, we can understand the nature of developments and development of this industry in the economic conditions of the country. Accordingly, due to the potential capabilities in the field of tourism in Iran, using descriptive statistics and tools such as internal and external factor evaluation matrix, SWOT matrix and quantitative strategic planning matrix, rural tourism industry in Iran has been studied and examined. Appropriate solutions should be provided to further develop it. The results showed that due to the position of rural tourism industry in SPACE matrix, this industry is in a weak offensive position. Hence, it may move towards a conservative strategy in the future.
