Abstract :
One of the most important capitals in each country is the professional human resources. No doubt, to develop a country, the role of universities ‘ faculty members is most important one. The aim of this article is to study the intervening and consequential factors of return migration of faculty members in public universities of Tehran. To do the research, the qualitative method was used, and the data – founded method (Grand Theory) was emphasized. The population is the public university faculty members who have had return migration from 1390 to now. The sample was thirty faculty members who were chosen using theoretical saturation. The findings were approved and improved by those who were expert in this subject. In this research, the data was collected using intensive and semi-structured interview. After the interviews which had been done with faculty members were analyzed, a conceptual framework was formed using faculty members’ interpretations. The findings were indicative of some intervening factors which were in the form of financial incapability and governing policies and also showed the consequential factors which were in the form of economical, social- cultural and psychological effects. After the above-mentioned categories were considered, the category “collective agency, function and structure” were chosen as the nucleus category.
