Assessment Relationship between mindfulness with depression and quality of life in women with breast cancer

Abstract :
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between mindfulness with depression and quality of life in women with breast cancer. Methods: In this study, 120 women with breast cancer referred to the Oncology part of Imam Hussein hospital of Tehran, were selected by purposive sampling. Participants complete the questionnaires of five-factor mindfulness, Beck, global quality of life and specific quality of life. Findings: The results of correlation and step by step regression showed that the global quality of life scales (scales of performance, symptoms and general health) and scales of specific quality of life (scales of performance, symptoms) with subscales of mindfulness (observation, descriptions, act with conscious, non-judgmental and nonreactive) and also general score of mindfulness have positive and significant relationship . In addition, the Beck Depression Inventory score has a significant negative relationship with subscales and total score of mindfulness. Discuss: According to the results, the Beck Depression Inventory scores predicte the greatest amount of variance of mindfulness and high scores in mindfulness scales is the predictor of global and specific quality of life.
