Abstract :
In today's competitive environment, companies need to improve organizational capabilities to maintain competitive advantage and growth. This research examines the impact of research and development strategies on the development of sustainable organizational capabilities and the mediating role of knowledge absorption capacity in this regard. The statistical population includes managers and experts of small and medium companies in Shahrood city with more than 3 years of work experience. The data was collected through a 33-question questionnaire in a judgmental and purposeful way. Then the data was analyzed using SPSS 21 and SmartPLS 3 software. The research results show that research and development strategies positively and significantly lead to the improvement of sustainable organizational capabilities. Also, absorption capacity plays an important role in strengthening this effect; So that companies gain more ability to innovate and produce new products by improving their absorption capacity. This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of methodology and helps to better understand the effective factors in sustainable organizational development. The findings emphasize the simultaneous importance of research and development and absorption capacity in the success of organizations, and managers are suggested to strengthen these factors for greater sustainability and competitiveness.
