Abstract :
Introduction: In today’s era, information literacy is regarded as a key learning skill that enhances educational quality; however, the digital divide among individuals and groups may constrain this effect. Focusing on learning management development, this study investigates how information literacy dimensions influence educational quality through the mediating role of the digital divide and their contribution to improving educational processes.
Methodology: This applied study employed a descriptive–correlational (ex post facto) design. The statistical population included all primary school teachers in Chamestan during the 2024–2025 academic year (N = 151), from which 108 participants were selected using stratified random sampling based on Morgan’s table. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires measuring information literacy, digital divide, and educational quality, and were analyzed through structural equation modeling using PLS-SEM.
Findings: The findings indicated that information literacy has a significant direct effect on educational quality (path coefficient = 13.282) and a strong effect on the digital divide (21.014). The digital divide also showed a significant direct effect on educational quality (7.364), and the Sobel test result (6.882 > 1.96) confirmed its significant mediating role in the relationship between information literacy and educational quality.
Conclusion: The results indicated that information literacy dimensions significantly influence educational quality, with the digital divide acting as a mediating factor. Reducing the digital divide strengthens the positive effect of information literacy on educational quality, highlighting that effective learning management relies on enhancing information literacy and narrowing digital gaps to achieve improved educational quality and sustainable learning.
