A comparative study of the theme of love in Shahnameh, Mahabhart and Dede Ghorqud

Abstract :

The Motif of love and its related concepts exist in the literature of any nation, and cultural differences and similarities can be seen in the comparison of literary texts, Because every literary text reflects the culture, rituals, beliefs and values ​​of different nations of the world. In this article, with the library method and comparative content analysis have been studied the epic texts of Iran, India and Azerbaijan on the subject of love and its related themes in the literature of nations. The Statistical Society is three epic texts: Shahnameh of Ferdowsi, Mahabahart of India and Dede Ghorqud of Azerbaijan. Analytical comparison of three epic works shows : love in any culture is one of the highest human feelings that promotes the goals of personal, family and culture of a nation. Love and marriage, love for family and love for the land are the three most important themes of epics. In love and marriage, there are love stories. here are similarities in love and marriage, and there are different types of unnatural, romantic, expedient, forced marriage and marriage with the enemy. The manifestation of love for family is kinship affection in family relationships, and love for the land is confrontation with enemies and preservation of the Territory. In contrast to love for wife and family are seen Spousal Homicide, Patricide, Filicide, Fratricide,  and  infidelity, lust, Being unfaithful. But the love of the land is emphasized in all three epics and there is no contradiction. on terms of the value of love, love of the land is more important. As patriotism is opposed to love of wife and love of family.
