Abstract :

Rumi uses the word death and its synonyms in Masnavi on numerous occasions. The present study is a descriptive study in which the words indicating death are studied. Interpretations written by such scholars as Forozanfar, Shahidi, Estelami, and Jafari are used as references. The results shows that death is dealt with under five categories: a. the how and reality of death; b. the similarity of death and sleep; c. indefinite ways of death; d. inevitability of death; e. after death situation
