Abstract :

Gegeographical background knowledge of ancient people dated to human civilizations first appears. Among the Old Testament Greek geographers extensive information presented in geography. Geographer Ptolemy before other ancients could affect periods after. By Muslims seek of geography and trends their attitudes were more geography of Ptolemy. Many geographers fallow his basic comments. Almjy Ptolemy book was translated by Muslims several times about his views and criticized Geography was. Meanwhile Yaghoubi more than others mention descriptions of some books that referred to Ptolemy. Apart from the seven climates of Ptolemy Geography division concept in the ancient Persians in the third century AH Muslim geographers and most of them has had the effect of method to follow the seven climates of Iran. climatology of Iranian Sassanid era Pahlavi texts can be significant and hence is effect on much of the Islamic geographers
