Abstract :
The issue of development and the role of the government in it has been one of the most controversial issues in various fields of thought and research in Iran during the last century. In this article, an attempt has been made to examine the transformational economic policies in Iran from a historical perspective. For this purpose, the first and second Pahlavi governments have been examined and the image of the government and their economic policies have been discussed with a developmental perspective. Also, the image of the government and the economic policies of the coalition government and the unified Islamic government have been examined. The results of the research indicate that during the first Pahlavi period, many developmentist and fundamental policies were implemented, which can be said to be the foundation of development in Iran since that time. During the second Pahlavi period, the government's income increased due to the significant increase in the price of gold and the flow of millions of dollars from its sale. But most of these revenues were spent on war equipment and weapons purchased from Western governments; As Iran became the fifth army in the world at that time. During the period of the Islamic Republic and the coalition government, although there were not many economic policies; But it can be pointed out that the policy of property confiscation was very prominent in this period.
