2 - ELISA Evaluation of Erythromycin Residues in Honey Samples Collected from Different Areas of Qazvin, IranAli Mehrabi Razzagh Mahmoudi Nasim Biglari Khoshmaram Reza Norian Shaghayegh Mousavi Hatam Ebrahimi Ahad Alizadeh Maryam KazemiJournal of Chemical Health Risks , شماره 5 , سال 13 , پاییز 2023Nowadays, antibiotic residues as a global concern pose a threat not only to public health, but also to the food industry all around the world. There have been many studies on contamination sources of bee products, which the most important of them is evaluation of honey contamination extent with various antibiotics used in colonies. Antibiotic residues have a relatively long half life and may have direct toxic effects on consumers. Considering the adverse effects of this residues, we decided to measure the residual erythromycin in different samples of honey consumes in Qazvin, Iran. The present study is a cross-sectional study which conducted in different regions of Qazvin, Iran, in 2019. 80 samples of honey were collected from different regions in Qazvin. Using semi-quantitative ELISA, honey samples were evaluated for the presence of residual erythromycin. Based on the results obtained by ELISA, residual erythromycin was detected only in 8 samples (10.66%), of which, 5 samples (6.66%) and 3 samples (4%) had between 10-120 ng g-1 erythromycin and higher than 120 ng g-1 erythromycin (higher than detection limit of kit), respectively. According to the results, more than 96 percent of our honey samples lacked any erythromycin or had erythromycin concentration lower than allowable limit. The present study demonstrated that most of the honey samples collected from different regions of Qazvin lacked erythromycin residues, but due to the importance of drug residues on community health, annual screening of produced honey for the presence of drug residues by competent authorities. پرونده مقاله -

3 - Thymol and its effects on the obesity parameters and fat tissue in NMRI micejournal of Medicinal Herbs (journal of herbal drugs) , شماره 5 , سال 14 , پاییز 2023Background & Aim: Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. This study investigated the influence of thymol on obesity, liver enzymes and adipose tissue in mice fed a high fat diet (HFD). Experimental: چکیده کاملBackground & Aim: Overweight and obesity are defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. This study investigated the influence of thymol on obesity, liver enzymes and adipose tissue in mice fed a high fat diet (HFD). Experimental: Male NMRI mice were divided into two groups; the control group that given normal rodent diet and obese group that received HFD for 8 weeks. The obese animals were divided into 3 groups: one group received thymol orally (12 mg/kg body weight) for a period of 56 days. Obese group didn't receive any treatment and the sham groups received thymol (12 mg/kg body weight) dissolved in grape seed oil. Alteration in body weight gain and serum biochemical markers were assessed and fat tissue was fixed in formalin in order to prepare microscopic slides. Finally, body weight, liver enzymes (ALT and AST), TNF-α‚ adiponectin‚ total antioxidant (TAC) and leptin levels were measured in obese mice compared with control mice. Results: Thymol treatment resulted in increased serum adiponectin and TAC level, while significantly reduced TNF-α level (P<0.05). The leptin level decreased in HFD mice, but it was not significant (P>0.05). Serum ALT and AST levels were significantly decreased (P<0.05) in HFD mice, compare with control. The diameter of adipose cells were decreased in thymol-supplementation mice (P<0.001). This combination does not lead to significant reduction in body weight, but it can help to prevent weight gain. Recommended applications/industries: The thymol was able to prevent HFD induced obesity in mice and attenuation of inflammation markers. پرونده مقاله
