Understanding ethnic students of their ethnic identity (Case study of male students in Hir city of Ardebil)

Abstract :
This study aims to analyze and interpret the identity of students in the city of Hir in Ardebil. The study population included all the first and second grade boys in Hirs city, Of these, 42 students were selected through theoretical sampling and evaluated. The method of research of the thematic analysis in the method of Brown and Clark (2006) has been used as a research method. The findings show that in "student orientation towards ethnicity", most of them (69.05%) have a negative attitude towards their own folk and related semantic elements. In contrast, only 11.91% of them express themselves in a self-defining sense of self-esteem. And the greatest perception of the "other" or orientation of the students studied is with 45.24% of the Tehranians and then the Persians (without mentioning the specific geography) with 40.48%. Students in their characterizations associate themselves with sub-themes: subordinate, traditional and not up-to-date, immoral and personality weaknesses, fear of ethnic self-expression, authoritarianism, poor religion, leisure use, deprivation, rural village Inappropriate, violent, unscrupulous, and so on at the same time, they have introduced the "other" with arrogant themes, escaping the law, and rich jobs, distrustfulness and ignorance of relatives, pleasure, ethics, and ....
